What is Kerith Creek? Kerith Creek is a renewal and retreat centre for married couples and married or single ministry leaders. We currently offer a retreat for pastors, missionaries and their spouses (ministry singles are also welcome). Development of other retreat programs are still in the planning stages.
How long has Kerith Creek been in existence? Kerith Creek has been in existence since 2003 but has been under the direction of Focus on the Family Canada since 2008. In the development of its new ministry retreat, Kerith Creek has also partnered with SonScape Retreats, a retreat ministry for clergy and missionaries that has been making a significant impact on the health and wellness of clergy for over 25 years.
How much do the retreats cost? Realizing that financial resources vary widely for couples and those in ministry, we have developed a sliding fee scale and a variety of scholarship opportunities to make sure finances don't keep anyone from attending a Kerith Creek retreat. Please contact us for further details.
What is the availability? We can accommodate up to four couples or single ministry leaders at a time.
What is Kerith Creek’s denominational affiliation? Kerith Creek is non-denominational and is a ministry of Focus on the Family Canada.
How long does the retreat last and what is the schedule like? Each Kerith Creek Ministry Retreat runs for seven days from Tuesday to Tuesday. We provide plenty of unstructured time for rest and reflection; most days, there is a two-hour teaching session. Each couple or single will also receive three two-hour sessions alone with the retreat leaders, at which time participants may bring up any topic they wish with complete confidentiality. While there is no “group sharing” time, there is plenty of opportunity for guests to interact and enjoy each other’s company.
Where is Kerith Creek located and where do I fly into? Kerith Creek is 15-20 minutes outside of Calgary and a 45-minute drive from Calgary International Airport, depending on traffic.

Can someone from Kerith Creek pick me up from the airport? Unfortunately, we are unable to transport people to and from Kerith Creek. We do, however, encourage you to rent a vehicle since the retreat schedule allows time for you to enjoy some of the area's many local attractions.
What are some of the local attractions? The Kananaskis, Elbow Falls, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, horseback riding, golf, hiking, fishing and much more. Although there are local attractions, most guests prefer to stay on-site to enjoy the Kerith Creek property. May I bring my children? Kerith Creek retreats are designed for married couples and ministry leaders who are married or single; therefore, we cannot accommodate children.
May I come alone? For the Kerith Creek Ministry Retreats, we welcome both married and single ministry leaders. However, since many of the pressures of life and ministry are felt by both husbands and wives, we insist that those who are married come with their spouses.
How can I donate to Kerith Creek? As a ministry of Focus on the Family Canada, Kerith Creek relies on caring ministry partners and donors to keep its retreats affordable.
